Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify the reaction property of zinc acrylate at the time of crosslinking, reduce an unevenness in compression and hardness, and improve the repulsion performance and durability by a method wherein, as a co- crosslinking agent for a rubber composition, zinc acrylate of which the particle size distribution and the average particle size are within specified ranges, is used. SOLUTION: This golf ball comprises a core 1 comprising a supercharged formed body of a rubber composition, and a cover 2 to cover the core 1, and the core 1 is formed of a crosslinked formed body of a rubber composition wherein, as a co-crosslinking agent, zinc acrylate of which the particle size distribution is within a range of 0.1-5 μm, and also, the average particle size of which is within a range of 1-4.5 μm is used. The zinc acrylate is obtained, e.g. after adding acrylic acid to a zinc compound emulsified in a reaction solvent such as toluene, xylene, benzene or the like, by reacting the acrylic acid and the zinc compound while stirring them using a device having a stirring function, and at this time, it is preferable to add a metal salt of a higher fatty acid for the purpose to improve the dispersibility.
