PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the fluctuations of negative pressure generating force caused by thermal deterioration generated when solid ink is melted by heating.
CONSTITUTION: A negative pressure generating member 30 composed of inorg. matter is provided to at least a part of an ink supply system equipped with an ink tank 2 storing solid ink supplied to an ink jet head 1 emitting ink solid at the normal temp. in a molten state and an ink supply passage supplying ink from the ink tank 2 to the ink jet head 1.
