To provide a solid oxide fuel cell with high power generation characteristics and also strong against aged deterioration.
In a solid oxide fuel cell 100 where an electrolyte layer 120 is laminated on a substrate of a fuel electrode 110, and an air electrode 130 is laminated on the electrolyte layer 120, a groove 122 is arranged on one face of the electrolyte layer 120, as a rectangular-shaped cross section. The groove 122 is formed in a size that particles 132 constituting the air electrode 120 can get inside of the same. An effective area of a three-phase interface between the air electrode 130 and the electrolyte layer 120 spreads by particles 132 constituting the air pole getting inside of the groove 122. With this, active spots of the air electrode reaction are increased, and an electrochemical reaction in the air electrode 130 is promoted as well. As a result, the power generation characteristics of the solid oxide fuel cell 100 is improved.
