To provide a solid phase extraction cartridge capable of extracting stably an object material from a sample.
In this solid phase extraction cartridge, the sample which is an analysis target is allowed to flow into a cartridge body 10a, and the object material in the sample is adsorbed onto a filling material 11 in the cartridge body 10a, and then a solvent is allowed to flow into the cartridge body 10a, to thereby recover eluate formed by eluting the object material into the solvent from the filling material 11. The filling material 11 includes an adsorbent 11a for adsorbing the object material and a swelling material 11b swelled by the solvent S, and the filling material 11 is swelled when the solvent is allowed to flow into the cartridge body 10a, and a cavity in the cartridge body 10a is reduced furthermore than the case wherein the sample is allowed to flow, and a pressure loss at the outflow time is heightened, to thereby mitigate the outflow speed of the eluate flowing out from the cartridge body 10a.
