This solid polymer type water electrolytic device comprises a water electrolytic tank 14 partitioned into an anode chamber 12 and a cathode chamber 13 with a solid polymer electrolytic film 11, a water feeding means 16 for feeding electrolytic water 15 to the solid polymer electrolytic film 11 side in the anode chamber 12, and an oxygen separating means and a hydrogen separating means for separating oxygen (O2) from hydrogen (H2) generated by the water electrolysis. A water feed tank 20 is installed above the electrolytic tank 14 with the solid polymer electrolytic film 11 erected in the perpendicular direction, and water from the water feed tank 20 is naturally circulated and fed to the solid polymer electrolytic film 11 as circulating water.
