Title:
SOLID POLYMER FUEL CELL AND ITS SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3440843
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the characteristic of a fuel cell due to the poisoning of a catalyst while preventing the deterioration of the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell.
SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with a fuel cell main lamination section 12 laminated with unit cells each arranged with gas diffusing electrodes on both faces of an ion conductive electrolyte film and gas separators feeding the fuel to one electrode and feeding the oxidant gas to the other electrode and an auxiliary lamination section 13 laminated with less numbers of the unit cells and gas separators than those of the main lamination section 12 and having a current passage independent of the main lamination section 12 in sequence. The fuel and oxidant gas are fed to the main lamination section 12 through the auxiliary lamination section 13, and the load of the auxiliary lamination section 13 is controlled. The load of the auxiliary lamination section 13 is controlled so that the fuel electrode potential of the auxiliary lamination section 13 exceeds the oxidation potential of CO and the voltage per unit cell of the auxiliary lamination section 13 is continuously vibrated.
