Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method of supplying hydrogen to the negative electrode of a solid polymer fuel cell by using oxygen contained hydrocarbon.
SOLUTION: This solid polymer fuel cell set comprises a solid polymer fuel cell in which a negative electrode and a positive electrode interposing a polymer electrolyte membrane between them are housed in a container having a fuel supply port for the negative electrode, a fuel cartridge that has a fuel chamber containing oxygen-contained hydrocarbon and a catalyst chamber containing a biochemical catalyst that generates hydrogen by resolving oxygen-contained hydrocarbon, and a connection tube that is made of a tube which is capable of connection with the fuel supply port for the negative electrode of the solid polymer fuel cell at one end, and capable of insertion in the fuel cartridge at the other end, and which has at least one opening for communicating respectively with each chamber of the cartridge at the other end.
