Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain reversing drive in a short time without giving a high speed reverse signal by giving a reverse transfer signal to plural prescribed electrodes consecutive at the vertical transfer section in the transfer of the signal charge reversely. CONSTITUTION:Four phase transfer signals phiV1, phiV2, phiV3, phiV4 are outputted from a drive circuit 15 and since the transfer signals phiV1-phiV4 are given to an electrode 4 of a vertical transfer section CCD 3 via a switching circuit 5, when a transfer gate 2 is opened, the signal charge transferred from a photo diode 1 to the vertical CCD 3 is being transferred sequentially in the direction of the horizontal CCD 6 into the vertical CCD 3. In the reverse transfer, the reverse transfer signal is generated based on the transfer signals phiV1-phiV4 in the switching circuit 5 and the reverse transfer signal is given into the vertical CCD 3, the signal charge is transferred reversely into the vertical CCD 3 and swept out. Thus, the same effect as giving of the reverse transfer signal in plural prescribed frequencies is obtained and the reverse transfer is attained at a high speed without increasing the frequency of the reverse transfer signal.
