PURPOSE: To prevent generation of a flaw on the screen of a video monitor and facilitate handling it for mounting and carrying, by providing a protection member for preventing friction in a part other than the effective photo detecting part of a photo detecting window.
CONSTITUTION: A frame body 9 for protection whose coefficient of thermal expansion is approximately equal to that of a ceramic package 1 and a light- transmissive glass photo detecting window 8 is arranged in the peripheral part of the photo detecting window 8 except the effective photo detecting part and is adhered there by frit 7. Thus, the effective photo detecting part of the photo detecting window 8 is recessed and can be scarcely rubbed, and the charging phenomenon is prevented. For adhesion of the frame body 9 for protection, an organic adhesive may be used instead of frit 7 after sealing hermetically the package 1.
