PURPOSE: To provide a solid-state image sensing device wherein its sensitivity can be enhanced effectively without being affected by the state of the diaphragm of a lens for a video camera or the like.
CONSTITUTION: An aspherical microlens in which a flat part 8s has been formed on the top part and in which a spherical part 8b has been formed on the circumferential face continued to the top part is installed on a photocletection part 3 as a solid-state image sensing element formed on a semiconductor substrate 1. When light having a large incidence angle is incident, the light which has been incident on the spherical part 8b is condensed and does not reach the photodetection part 2. However, most of the light which has been incident on the flat part 8a on the top part reaches the photodetection part 2. As a result, the photodetection sensitivity of the solid-state image sensing element is enhanced when the incidence angle of the light is large.
