To realize a solid-state imaging device for range finding which is mounted with a spot light metering function suitable for a microcomputer with a built-in AD converter (ADC), has its photometric precision and operating speed improved, and is mounted with a small-chip-size and low-cost spot light metering function.
The solid-state imaging device for range finding is constituted by forming on the same semiconductor substrate 100 an AF circuit block 101 having a photodiode array for finding a range and a driving circuit, a detecting circuit, and a shift register outputting an AF signal corresponding to the amount of charges accumulated in the photodiode array to an AD converter 112 of the microcomputer 109 through a multiplexer (MPX) 104 and an AE circuit block 102 which includes a photodiode for light metering and outputs an AE signal photoelectrically converted by it to the ADC 112 of the microcomputer 109 through the MPX 104; and a monitor signal (maximum value signal) of the AF circuit block 101 is outputted as a spot AE signal to the ADC 112 of the microcomputer 109 through the MPX 1.
