Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate an A/D converter by sequentially comparing signal voltage that is acquired from a photodetector with voltage value of a threshold signal that is generated by counting a clock and performing analog conversion of it, generating a binarization signal, detecting change of the level and outputting output value of a counter for generating a threshold signal at the time of change from a binarization signal decoder. SOLUTION: Each pixel of 1st to the n-th lines is sequentially read with a period when a threshold signal is the lowest voltage value V0 as a 1st read period and is transmitted to a binarization signal generation circuit 7. The 2nd reading is performed in a period of voltage V1 when the threshold signal is larger than the value V0 by one. The voltage of the analog luminance signal string is compared with the voltage of the threshold signal, and an H level and an L level are outputted. An analog luminance signal value is converted into a digital value by detecting these rise and fall edges and latching an output of a counter 23 that generates a threshold signal at that time.
