Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid state laser oscillator in which the temperature gradient can be lessened at a doped part 7 as compared with a conventional one having a partial face exposed to the atmosphere by preventing any face at the doped part 7 from being exposed to the atmosphere.
SOLUTION: The solid state laser oscillator 1 comprises a laser medium 2 having a doped part 7 and a nondoped part 8, a semiconductor laser 4 for irradiating the laser medium 2 with pumping light PL, and a heat sink 3 for cooling the laser medium 2. Lower end face 7A of the doped part 7 is brought into contact with the heat sink 3, other outer circumferential part 7B and the surface 7C are covered with the nondoped part 8 and the nondoped part 8 is brought into contact with the heat sink 3.
