PURPOSE: To obtain a pickup device which features a clear picture with a high resuolution without requiring the complicated and minute processing techmique just by changing the shape of the storge part while keeping a mall area for the photo sensor part.

CONSTITUTION: A number of line sensors 11-1∼11-n are arranged at photo sensor part 11 with separation by channel stoppers 14, and the storage and transfer of the pickup are repeated with the pulses applied to terminals VA1, VA2 and VA3. Storage part 22 contains line storage parts 22-1∼22-n which feature the same width as the line sensor at the area adjacent to part 11 and the wider width toward line transfer part 13. Part 22 stores temporarily the charge sent from part 11 and then send it to part 13 via the pulses applied to terminals VB1, VB2 and VB3. At the part 13, the charge sent in is transferred to be converted into the electric signals through the reading part.
