To provide a new apparatus for estimating solubility of protein developed by using a coli bacillus or wheat germ.
A solubility estimation device 1 is provided with: a statistical model storage part 18 that stores a statistical model generated by machine-learning the results of the development experiments of protein for determining whether protein is soluble or not, by using (1) the number of a predetermined amino acids included in the amino-acid sequence of protein, (2) the number of amino acids having predetermined physical features or chemical features, (3) the number of continuous predetermined amino acids, (4) the number of continuous amino acids having predetermined physical features or chemical features, (5) the number of film through-regions, (6) the number of predetermined amino acids in a surface residue, and (7) the ratio of a disorder region included in the protein, as parameters; a DNA sequence input part 10 for inputting a DNA sequence; a parameter value calculation part 12 for calculating the values of the parameters (1) to (7); and a solubility determination part 16 for determining the solubility of protein by applying the values of the parameters to a statistical model.
