PURPOSE: To provide a calcium carbonate colloid solution useful as an inorganic binder and a process for its production and to provide a slurry for forming a heat-resistant formed article using the colloid solution and a heat-resistant formed article produced by using the slurry.
CONSTITUTION: The objective solution of calcium carbonate colloid is produced by introducing carbon dioxide gas into milk of lime to form a slurry of fine calcium carbonate particles produced by the carbonation reaction and adding and dispersing a dispersing agent consisting of a water-soluble acrylic polymer and a water-soluble modified polyvinyl alcohol to the slurry. The calcium carbonate fine particle has a specific particle size distribution characterized in that the calcium carbonate fine particles having particle diameter of ≤0.1μm account for at least 80wt.% of the total calcium carbonate fine particles.
