The coating tool 1 optionally having a circular, elliptical, tetragonal or polygonal shape, or the like, to match the application is formed from the elastic member selected from a resin foamed body, felt, nonwoven fabric, paper, cloth, or the like, having a recessed part at the center. The coating tool is constituted so that the coating tool body 1 is impregnated with the coating solution and the coating solution is applied by holding a knob 2. As a result, even in the case that a curved surface is formed on a material to be coated, the coating tool body 1 having the recessed part and formed from the elastic material flexibly follows the curved shape to uniformly apply the coating solution.
