PURPOSE: To accurately and continuously measure the temperature of a solution for a long period.
CONSTITUTION: Bottomed holes 14, 15, and 16 are bored in the protective body of a solution thermometer 10 formed in a cylindrical shape of a heat-resistance material so that the intervals between the holes 14, 15, and 16 and the end face 12 of the protective body which is faced to a solution 2 can become different from each other and thermocouples 17, 18, and 19 are housed in the holes 14, 15, and 16. When the thermocouple 17 which is closest to the solution 2 is lost due to the melting of the protective body from the end face 12 facing the solution 2, the temperature of the solution 2 is measured with the thermocouple 18 which is the nearest to the solution 2 next to the thermocouple 17. By successively changing the thermocouple used for the temperature measurement in such a way, the temperature of the solution 2 can be measured for a long period until all thermocouples are lost.
