Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out a good coating by making sufficiently and uniformly a solvent flow out for forming an image under an appropriate pushing pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Water 42 is made to flow out and is applied on a photosensitive material 16 by bringing a sponge 36 into press-contact with the photosensitive material 16 and moving the sponge 36 along the photesensitive material 16 in the arrow mark direction A. The main body part 60 of the sponge 36 is made into a reversed triangle shape seen from the longitudinal direction of the sponge 36 (seen along the moving direction for application) and is a tapered shape toward the photosensitive material 16. The pushing pressure to be needed for obtaining a specified amt. of depression in the pressing direction to which the sponge 36 is pressed toward the photosensitive material 16 (the dimension of depression in the height direction) is enough to be smaller than that for a sponge 36 with a straight rectangular shape because of the former one with a smaller apparent hardness.
