A strip 1 coated with an organic solvent-based coating material is dried and baked, and a volatilized solvent generated during drying and baking processes is continuously supplied to the deodorizing device 5 in a heating catalytic method, and the solvent which is continuously supplied is burned at the deodorizing device 5 while supplying the fuel in such a way that the inside of the deodorizing device 5 is made to be an atmospheric temperature and is exhausted by an exhaust fan 10. A maximum solvent amount per unit time supplied to the deodorizing device 5 is estimated from the data of an object strip 1 and the treatment capability of continuous coating equipment, and the exhaust amount is controlled from the estimated maximum solvent amount.
