Abstract:
To provide a solventless process for easily producing a tetracarboxylic acid diamine salt being a precursor necessary in producing a polyimide resin applicable to heat-resistant films, etc., through a route of a tetracarboxylic acid diamine salt.
This process comprises mixing under heating a tetracarboxylic acid and/or a tetracarboxylic acid monoanhydride capable of forming two imide rings when cyclized with a diamine without the help of any solvents. In a preferable embodiment, the ratio of the acid component to the diamine component is 0.1-10 by mole.
