Abstract:

PURPOSE: To identify the target emitted sound and noises even if their reception levels are nearly the same in a passive sonar system.

CONSTITUTION: The received signal 5 obtained from a receiver 1 is staggered by the time length τ by a high-speed Fourier transformer 2, and it is extracted by the preset time length T to determine the amplitude spectrum 6 in sequence. The amplitude spectrum 6 is integrated by frequency in the time length T0 by a pre-processing device 3, the peak value is standardized to 1, the obtained amplitude spectrum 7 is used as the input data to a neural network 4, and the neural network 4 identifies whether the received sound is the target emitted sound or noises based on the learning by back propagation.
