Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a sonotrode by which workpieces difficult of handling can be easily machined and which has short structural length in a direction of vibration of a tool.
CONSTITUTION: Proposed sonotrode is ring-shaped, has four nodes equally distributed over its circumference and vibrates at one of its natural frequencies as bending vibration. Accordingly the vibrations introduced at an inlet 17 along an axis 10 are outputted from an exit 18 along an output axis 19 bent by 90°. With this constitution, the workpieces difficult of handling can be effectively machined by ultrasonics.
