To suppress decrease in sorting accuracy in a chute type optical sorter.SOLUTION: A sorter for granular materials comprises: an optical sorting part with a chute which optically sorts granular materials, which flow down on the chute and drop from a downstream end of the chute, into at least a first quality material and a second quality material; a feeder which feeds the granular materials on the chute; an exhaust port which is provided on a rear stage of the optical sorting part in a granular material conveyance path, and discharges the first quality material from the sorter; and a switching valve which switches a destination of the first quality material discharged from the optical sorting part between a first passage for returning the first quality material to a front stage with respect to the optical sorting part, and a second passage for conveying the first quality material to the exhaust port side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
