PURPOSE: To sort signatures regardless of the property of the signatures and perform the sorting work of a large quantity of the signatures without damaging the signatures by hooking bundles of the signatures, and inserting a partition rod into a gap.
CONSTITUTION: Signatures 11 bundled in the thickness direction are mounted on a table 10 with the creases at the bottom, and bundles of the signatures 11 are shifted in one direction by vibration. An opening section 8 is formed at a portion of the table 10 supporting the bundles of the signatures 11, and a hook claw 22 protruded from the opening section 18 and hooking the bundles of the signatures 11 shifted on the table 10 and an air cylinder 21 driving the hook claw 22 are arranged on the lower side. When the hook claw 22 is protruded from the opening section 18 and a gap is formed between the bundles of the signatures 11, a support plate 10a is stopped, a motor 16 is rotated to lift a slider 15, and a partition rod 19 is inserted between the bundles of the signatures 11. A preset number of the signatures 11 are sorted between the partition rod 19 and the support plate 10a.
