Abstract:
PURPOSE: To miniaturize a sorter frame by arranging a driving mechanism for moving plural bins of a sorter in the vertical direction at a position closer to the tip of the paper than the rear end of the paper, and arranging a shutter member near this driving mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: In a copying machine, a sorter arranged in the side of a copying machine main body has a driving mechanism for moving plural bins 25 vertically with the rotation of a spiral cam 33, and a fixed reference plate for truing-up of side edge of the paper and an elevating reference plate are provided in the tip of a sorter frame 2a in the front side of a device. The elevating reference plate consists of an upper reference plate, which is fixed, and a lower reference plate 122b, which functions as a shutter member and which can be elevated freely, and under the condition that the lower reference plate 122b is opened, the side of a bin 25 of a lower stage of the bins 25 corresponding a processing unit is opened. The tip of the sorter frame 2a is provided with an elevating mechanism 125 for elevating the lower reference plate 122b and including a gear train 128 to be rotated by a motor 127.
