PURPOSE: To comprehend paper discharge containing condition for every bin reliably thus to realize flexible sorting work in sorter for copy machine by providing means for storing the amount of paper contained in respective bin.

CONSTITUTION: Sorter control section or CPU 70 has an inner RAM to input the output signals SS1, SS2 from each sensor for receiving, intermediate, bin and door of two sorters coupled in series through a port 71 thus to control the operation of respective sorter. Solenoid 85 for operating a deflection click and bin assigning LED 36 are driven by drive data from shift registers 74, 75. Said shift registers are selected by select signals S2, S3 to store deflection click drive signal S1 synchronously with clock pulse CP. Since the number of sheets discharged to respective bin is stored in such a manner, paper discharge/containing condition of respective bin can be comprehended reliably resulting in flexible sorting work.
