PURPOSE: To improve workability by molding a sound-absorbing plate obtained by holding both surfaces of a metallic fiber mat by porous plates and compression-molding both surfaces in a cylindrical shape while penetrating a center pillar for support functioning as a reinforcing member in combination in the axial direction and fixing the center pillar to the inner surface of the cylindrical shape.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic fibers of aluminum or stainless steel are contact-bonded, thus forming a metallic fiber mat. A porous plate or a mesh such as the punching metal or expanded metal of aluminum or stainless steel is formed. The metallic fiber mat is held by the porous plate or the mesh, and compression-molded, thus shaping a sound-absorbing plate 2 in thickness of 1-5mm. The sound-absorbing plate 2 is molded in a cylindrical shape having a diameter of 50-500mm and a sound-absorbing cylinder 1 is formed, a center pillar 3 for support is fixed to the inner surface of the sound- absorbing cylinder 1, and the end face of the cylinder 1 is covered with a plate 4. The sound-absorbing cylinders 1 are installed to the rear of a high level road and the inner surface of a tunnel at intervals at half or twice as long as the diameter of the cylinder 1.
