To provide a sound collection method that does not spoil presence although a sound radiated from a sound source or speaker is likely to be listened with poor presence and an unclear image.
A sound collector is formed in a cap shape, and mounted, for example, as a microphone cap 3 on a compact capacitor microphone. The sound collector is formed of a cylindrical tube with an opening portion or a tapered resonance tube array 1 that resonates to a frequency component which is a substantially odd multiple or integral multiple. A plurality of resonance tubes which have opening ends and differ in length have other-end portions bundled together, and are mounted in a sealed state closely to a tip-portion diaphragm 4 of a capacitor microphone etc., so as to collect a sound. The resonance tubes have lengths such that the longest length and shortest length are L and L/2 and other lengths are determined by dividing the difference between the longest and shortest lengths by 6 to 12.
