PURPOSE: To maintain effectiveness for reducing the sound pressure level of aerodynamic sound generated by a pantagraph, and reduce aerodynamic sound and air pressure arising from a pantagraph sound insulation device itself.
CONSTITUTION: Front and rear walls 5a and 5b, and side walls 4a and 4b are so constituted as to be divided for making a pantagraph 2 pass through a gap between the side walls 4a and 4b in a lengthwise direction. Otherwise, constitution is so made that the upper ends of the front and rear walls 5a and 5b where intersecting the gap is made lower than the upper ends thereof at the front section of the pantagraph 2. According to this construction, the total value of pantagraph aerodynamic sound during the high-speed travel of a vehicle can be reduced, and air resistance can also be reduced.
