PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound proof plate unit which holds a sound insulation plate with high intensity without providing a frame member to an upper edge part of the translucent sound insulation plate.SOLUTION: A metal frame 30 is a U-shaped frame opening upward formed by integrating a pair of vertical frame members 31, 32 for holding both side parts of a sound insulation plate 20, and a lower frame member 33 for holding a bottom side part of the sound insulation plate 20. The vertical frame members 31, 32 and the lower frame member 33 are respectively integrally-molded metallic frame members. The vertical frame members 31, 32 include recesses to which both side parts of the sound insulation plate 20 are inserted. The lower frame member 33 includes a recess to which the bottom side part of the sound insulation plate 20 is inserted. Buffer material interposed between the bottom surface of the recess and the end surface of the sound insulation plate 20, and a spacer member which is interposed between both side surfaces of the recess and the sound insulation plate 20 to position the sound insulation plate 20 at an intermediate position between both side surfaces are provided in the recess. Caulking material is filled between both side surfaces of the recess and the sound insulation plate 20.
