PURPOSE: To offer the soundboad for the musical instrument which never impedes the acoustic radiation of low-frequency components and has its acoustic characteristics set to desired characteristic by sticking carbon-fiber reinforced resin wire materials in grooves cut in a straight-grained timber veneer in its grain direction.
CONSTITUTION: The soundboard 1 is formed by joining the end surfaces of plural straight-grained timber veneers. A short dowel 2 is provided at the upper part of this soundboard 1 and a long dowel 3 is provided at the center part in the grain direction M. Rod materials 5 of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) are arranged in the grooves 4 cut at a specific pitch P along the grain direction M. Thus, the rod materials 5 are arranged in the grain direction of the soundboard 1 and then while anisotropy is maintained in the grain direction and orthogonally to it, the modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the sound board material can be increased.
