Abstract:

To provide a sounding device and a sounding method capable of: simultaneously performing an in-situ sounding to directly measure hardness or softness of the ground as well as a degree of compaction and a sampling to extract a sample for understanding a composition of a soil layer; requiring no treatment of muddy water which is regarded as industrial waste, and improving a working environment of a job site.

The present invention extracts a soil sample with a sampling tube pressed into the ground by sending fresh water to a hydraulic type sampler 101 through a water pump. At this time, the invention controls a displacement speed of the sampling tube to be constant by keeping a flow rate of the fresh water sent to the hydraulic type sampler 101 constant. Then, the invention measures a water pressure and the flow rate of the fresh water sent to the hydraulic type sampler 101 by the pump and obtains a static penetration resistance from the water pressure and a penetration amount from the flow rate.
