Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make the output voltage of a smoothing capacitor changeable to both a higher voltage and lower voltage by inputting the output voltage and comparing the input voltage with a reference voltage for output voltage, and then, controlling the turning on/off period of a switching element.
CONSTITUTION: A constant-voltage control circuit 10 controls the synchronization between FET transistors Q10 and Q11 so that the transistor Q11 can be turned off while the transistor Q10 is turned on and, at the same time, compares the smoothed output DC voltage V0 of a smoothing capacitor C11 with a reference voltage for output DC voltage and generates switching signals which control the ratio of the turning-on period of the transistor Q10 to the turning-off period of the transistor 10 so that the DC voltage V0 can be fixed in accordance with the difference between the voltage V0 and reference voltage. The energy stored in the capacitor C11 is recovered by controlling the pulse width of the switching signal of the transistor Q10 during the turn-on period in the controlled period or gradually and forcibly prolonging the turn-off period when the operation of the circuit 10 is stopped. Consequently, an inputted power supply voltage can be changed to a higher voltage or lower voltage.
