PURPOSE: To provide a space detection traveling car which can employ large diameter wheels advantageous for traveling over irregular grounds, and concur rently can cope with difficulties such as housing articles in a limited space at the time of transportation and traveling in a narrow space.
CONSTITUTION: This invention is concerned with a space detection traveling car R1 where the car is equipped with paired main wheels 1 and 1, a body 3 which is connected to the axle 2 of the main wheels 1 and 1, and can be housed in a space between the main wheels 1 and 1, and with a driven wheel 4 which is secured to the body 3, and can be housed in a space between the main wheels 1 and 1 together with the body 3. And, a joint mechanism (link 5, leg 12) is also provided, which allows the driven wheel 4 to be extended beyond the outside of a space between both the main wheels 1 and 1, at least into either one of a space between the axle 2 of the main wheel 1 and the body 3, and a space between the body 3 and the driven wheel 4.
