PURPOSE: To provide a space heater of simple construction that is safe, affords pleasantness, and is very effective in energy saving.
CONSTITUTION: In a space heater which carries out the drive of a heating section by the setting of an operation section 1 and temperature that is detected by an environmental temperature sensor, the operation section 1 has an operational state setting means that sets the operational state in which the control section drives the heating section by a first setting, temperature holding state setting means 5 that drives the heating section by a second setting in which the temperature is lower than in the first setting, and stopped state setting means that stops the heating of the heating section. The operation section has, further, an OFF timer setting means 7 that sets a first specified time, ON timer setting means 6 that sets a second specified time. There are an ON timer setting state in which the operation section moves from the state of operation to the state of temperature holding or state of stopping by the setting of the OFF timer setting means 7 after a first specified time has passed and ON timer setting state in which the operation section moves from the state of temperature holding or state of stopping to the state of operation by the setting of the ON timer setting 6 after a second specified time has passed.
