Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance heat resistance and reduce the heated temperature of a firing end surrounding electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A spark plug consists of a metal shell 1, an insulator which is placed into the metal shell 1 and fixed thereto, a center electrode 3 which is fixed in the imusulator 2, a plane portion 4 which is arranged in parallel to the end face of the center electrode 3 with a spark gap between, and an outside delta electrode 6 which is formed with the leg portion 5 extended from the peripheral edge of the plane portion 4 and resistance-welded to the end step portion 11 of the metal shell 1. A cutout 13 is provided at the non-threaded portion 10 of the metal shell 1.
