CONSTITUTION: A spare tire holder is provided with a tire carrier 14 consisting of a rod member whose one end is rotatably supported by a car body via a hinge mechanism 16, a detachable stopper pin 22 for stopping relative movement of the hinge mechanism in a prescribed opening position of the tire carrier, a holding bracket which is provided in the tire carrier and holds the stopper pin in a fixed state, and a cord 24 of closed loop which holds the stopper pin and guides the stopper pin at least from the position of the hinge mechanism 16 to the position of the holding bracket along a rod part of the tire carrier.
