Abstract:

To avoid knocking with a low cost structure and improve emission in materialization of high compression ratio engine.

An engine body 20 of which geometrical compression ratio is set to 14 or higher is provided. An exhaust pipe 140 of the engine body 20 is set in such a manner that distance from an exhaust port 29 to a catalyst unit 146 is length L to be a predetermined low exhaust pressure specification. A control means executes cold start control to retard fuel injection timing to compression stroke at cold start.
