The spark ignition internal-combustion engine of intra-cylinder injection type is equipped with a fuel injection device 7 and an ignition plug 6, wherein the fuel injection device 7 is arranged around the over-part of each cylinder for injecting the fuel in the form spreading as going forward into the cylinder directly, and at the time of homogeneous combustion, injects the atomized fuel in a sector shape spreading forward with the center axis C1 of atomized fuel directed downward aslant in such a way that the center plane across the thickness of the atomized fuel is approximately flush with the vertical plane passing between two suction valves.
