Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform the speed control of the titled commutator motor effectively and easily by a method wherein an AC semiconductor element is inserted in the motor in series, and a forced commutation is performed synchronously in the state of rectification. CONSTITUTION:A single-phase AC series commutator motor has a field winding 3, an armature 4, a commutator 5 and a brush 6. An AC semiconductor element 8 such as a triac or an antiparallel thyristor, for example, is connected to the motor in series. Also, an auxiliary AC semiconductor element 10 for forced commutation is connected in parallel with said semiconductor 8 through the intermediary of a commutation capacitor 12. The position at which the upper brush 6 begins to separate from a commutator bar toward the rotating direction is detected by a rotating position sensor 14, and the input of an armature is shut out by the semiconductor element 8.
