Abstract:
To obtain a spatial video information system with which a spatial floating video free of ghosts is obtained, and which is suitable for error-free inputs.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel, a light source device for supplying light of specific direction of polarization to the liquid crystal panel, and a retroreflective member are included as a video display device, with a shield member being arranged in a space linking the liquid crystal panel and the retroreflective member, the shield member shielding light from the liquid crystal panel that has a divergence angle exceeding a specific angle from entering the retroreflective member. The light source device comprises a punctate or planar light source, optical means for reducing the divergence angle of light from the light source, polarized light conversion means for aligning light from the light source into polarized light in a specific direction, and a lightguide body having a reflection surface for propagating to the video display device. Control is exercised by the shape and surface roughness of a reflection surface provided to the light source device, and a video beam having a narrow divergence angle from the liquid crystal panel is reflected by the retroreflective member, thus forming a spatial floating video in the air.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
