Abstract:

To easily display images in colors at a high speed.

White light, emitted from a lamp 31, is branched to light beams of three colors: red light, green light and blue light by a volume hologram element 33. These light beams are collected to a GLV 20 by a cylindrical lens 34. The light beams of the respective colors are modulated respectively independently and spatially by the GLV 20 and are made incident via at cylindrical lens 34 on the volume type hologram 33. After the light beams of the three colors have been multiplexed by the volume hologram 33, the light beams are scanned in a prescribed direction by a galvanomirror 35, and the images displayed in colors are projected onto a projection surface 37 via a projection lens 36.
