To provide an SPD for power supplies capable of easily reducing costs when using one unit of a body storing a zinc oxide varistor element and a supporting rack storing a terminal mechanism in a plurality of units.
The SPD of one unit is composed of the body SP1 storing a varistor element 10 in a first casing 1, and the supporting rack SP2 having a second casing 51 with a recess 53 for engaging the body. The second casing 51 has a contact output mechanism 56 for sending a fault of the body SP1 to a remote location with an electric signal, and a displacement interlocking member 70 transmitting displacement caused by the occurrence of a fault of the body SP1 to the contact output mechanism 56. When a plurality of supporting racks SP2 are connected in parallel, the displacement interlocking members 70 of adjacent supporting racks are connected mutually for the same rocking operation when a fault occurs in the body.
