Abstract:

To generate acoustic waves having desired directional characteristics by a simple method.

An electrostatic speaker 1 has a vibrating membrane 10 and an electrode 20. First to n-th (n: a positive integer) regions A-D are set onto the electrode. A k-th (k: an integer of 2-n) region is set while surrounding (k-1)-th region. In each region, a plurality of through holes Ha-Hd having the same shape are provided at the same interval. At least one of the shape and the arrangement interval of the through-hole should differ for each region.
