Abstract:
PURPOSE: To markedly enhance printing efficiency by providing a storage device preliminarily storing block shift data dividing the upper and lower character fonts of a character font into 1/3 of a print head to shift the same, bit shift data and base line data, a vertical 1/2 compression part, a shift register and a printing buffer.
CONSTITUTION: For example, in the case of inferior character printing processing due to print head height 24 dots and character font 36 dots, upper character 24 dots are read from a font generator 3 on the basis of a character code to be divided into 1/3 of the height of a print, head and compressed in an upper direction on the basis of the data of a base line data part 7 by a vertical 1/2 compression part 4 to be stored in a shift register 5 and arranged in a printing buffer 6 on the basis of the data of the base line data part 7. Lower character font data 24 bits are read by the second dividing printing processing and the same processing is executed to perform the lap-writing of printing data on the basis of this arrangement data. The printing data of one line is printed to also print the upper character font. The lower character font is printed by the second dividing printing processing.
