PURPOSE: To obtain special foil yarn having excellent elongation to tensile strength and without generating variation of tension, extending or breaking for weaving with using to both of warp and weft by cutting thin sheet-like material of noble metal (alloy) in thin breadth.

CONSTITUTION: A thin sheet-like material of noble metal (alloy) is cut in thin breadth to afford the aimed yarn. Besides, preferably, a noble metal-based alloy is made as thin sheet-like shape and 100% noble metal is provided on at least one face of said sheet-like material to form a thin plate, then said thin plate is cut in narrow breadth.
