To produce a specific fabric having a soft surface touch feeling, and body and stiffness as a whole feeling by chemically treating at least one surface layer of a polyester fabric obtained by using a hard twist yarn.
This specific fabric is produced by coating a treating liquid having 200-1500 poise viscosity and blended with a component capable of decomposing or dissolving a polyester such as sodium hydroxide on at least one surface of a woven fabric such as a decyne crepe containing a hard twist yarn comprising polyester filaments having single filament denier within the range of 0.1-10de and having ≥1,000T/M, further heat treating the coated woven fabric, washing and drying the heat treated fabric to diminish the section area of the polyester filaments brought into contact with the treating liquid to ≤80% of the original section area and to cut the filament to form a tapering off shape at everywhere and also making the surface touch feeling soft by raising naps.
