PURPOSE: To meet the requirement for the reduction of weight and to improve workability, corrosion resistance and brazing performance by consisting a core material of an aluminum alloy and an outside layer of a specific copper alloy.
CONSTITUTION: The core material 2 consists of the aluminum alloy consisting essentially of Al and the outside layer 3 consists of the copper alloy contg. 5W40wt.% Ni. The aluminum alloy is used as the core material 2 as said alloy contributes to the reduced weight of a spectacle frame 1 and the copper alloy is used as the outside layer 3 as said alloy has the good effect on corrosion resistance and color tone. The color tone is not satisfactory and the corrosion resistance and strength are not enough if <5wt.% Ni and the color tone does not change so much and resulting in a vain cost increase.
