To provide a spectacle lens evaluating method that can execute evaluation more precisely based on acquisition data for mapping points.
Position displacements due to refraction of a plurality of prescribed light rays on a lens are mapped by using a frequency distribution measuring device, and first refractive power data is acquired for the mapping points. Second refractive power data is acquired in the same manner for a plurality of reference lenses. Subsequently, a correction value obtained based on variations in the second refractive power data for the plurality of reference lenses is applied to a prescription value for a measured lens and calculated as a prediction value. Then, a difference between the prediction value and the first refractive power data is calculated to be used as a basis for performing evaluation of the measured lens.
